PRC holds Olympics for RCY Month Celebration
In celebration of the Red Cross Youth (RCY) Month, Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-RCY Department will hold the RCY Olympics on October 26 to 29 to promote healthy lifestyle among the youth and reinforce their vital role in the society.
In line with the theme, "Our Year, Our Voice," the RCY Olympics aims to foster camaraderie among youth volunteers from PRC chapters in Metro Manila who will be competing in basketball, volleyball or badminton.
Winners of the RCY Olympics will receive medals, trophies, and certificates.
"The youth are effective agents of development, positive social change and technological innovation. Thus, we should make use of their energy and ideals as they can help in solving society’s most pressing challenges," said PRC Chairman Richard Gordon.
The United Nations declared 2010 as International Year of the Youth: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding.
